Shipping Charges & Times

Shipping costs are determined by the total weight of the order and by the shipping method selected. Your total shipping charges will be displayed on the Checkout page, prior to submitting your order.

Estimated shipping charges will be displayed in your Shopping Cart after you have signed in to your registered online account. Final shipping charges will be displayed during Checkout, once a shipping address has been entered and a shipping method has been selected. For all other customers, the Shipping cost will be displayed in Checkout once the Shipping Address is entered and the Shipping Method selected. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands or P.O. Boxes will result in a surcharge. This is based on your default shipping address.

Everyday Free Shipping on $35

  • Free Standard Shipping automatically applies to your qualifying minimum online purchase subtotal of $35. No promotion code necessary. Subtotal refers to amount of order before taxes and shipping. All Free Shipping is based on Standard Shipping rates. P.O. Boxes, Alaska/Hawaii are based on USPS Priority Mail.
  • Free Shipping Exclusions: Ice melter, wild bird food, live fish & rock, aquatic gravel and accents; crickets, live food and frozen food; out-of-stock items, Donations, Petco or Unleashed by Petco Gift Cards and eGift Cards; items shipped through white glove delivery or LTL delivery; orders exceeding the maximum weight limit of 300 lbs.; and applicable taxes. Additional exclusions may apply and will be noted on the Product Detail page and/or Shopping Cart.
  • Wild bird food, live & frozen food and oversized items may incur an additional per-item shipping & handling fee or surcharge. Additional fees may apply and will be noted on the Product Detail page and/or Shopping Cart.
  • Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands or P.O. Boxes will result in a surcharge. This is based on your default shipping address.

The following schedule shows anticipated delivery based on the day you place your order. As delivery issues (such as inclement weather) may arise, please wait for an email confirming the delivery date for your order.

If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email.

Guarantee

Petco takes great care to ensure that the Live Fish, Invertebrates & Plants you order arrives safely and in healthy condition. All Aquatic Life are guaranteed to stay alive for 7 days from the day they arrive at your home or we will gladly refund back to the original form on payment..

Returns or refunds cannot be offered on Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Plants that you decide you do not want. Please ensure the items you order are what you want before finalizing the order.

If you experience a loss of your marine fish, freshwater fish, invertebrates, or live plants within 7 days of delivery please contact Customer Relations at 877-738-6742.

  • You must contact Customer Relations within the required time frame as stated above. No refund can be offered if contact is not made within these time frames.
  • You must email the Customer Relations team a photograph of your specimen as proof of loss.
  • Please do not mail any specimens back to Petco.
  • • Live Fish, & Invertebrates, & Live Plants refunds may only be given by contacting Customer Relations and cannot be given at any Petco store location.• Live Fish, & Invertebrates, & Live Plants CANNOT be returned to any Petco or Unleashed by Petco stores.
  • Please have your order number available when contacting Customer Relations.

Terms & Conditions

In order to ensure that the Live Fish, Invertebrates, & Live Plants are kept in a safe environment, please be available to sign for the package the day that the order arrives. Please accept the package even if it is late, as it cannot be returned to the vendor. If you are not available to sign for the package, Petco can only guarantee a refund of the price of the Live Fish & Invertebrates and not the shipping cost.

If regrettably your Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Live Plants arrives deceased, Petco will gladly issue a refund. Petco does not reship all or partial orders in the unfortunate event of a loss within the 7-day guarantee period. If you signed for the package and a refund is issued, you will also be refunded the prorated shipping cost for the deceased Live Fish & Invertebrates.

Live Fish, Invertebrates, & Live Plant arrivals must be acclimated immediately upon receipt.

Petco recommends that all new aquatic life be quarantined for 14 days. Petco will not refund or replace any existing Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Live Plant that is injured or becomes ill as a result of introducing new aquatic life to your aquarium.

If your order cannot be immediately fulfilled in its entirety, we will ship the items we have in stock and the remaining items will be CANCELED from your order. You may reorder once they become available again.
