That is a difficult problem. I usually try giving treats to catch them, and then use grooming with soothing talk to help calm their fear. There are anti anxiety supplements you can give if you know this is going to happen ahead of time. You may also talk with your neighbors to let you know when they will be doing this so you can prepare, have him under control, give medication or if possible consider taking your hose to another place if needed. Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It does look a lot like hives in your horse here. Most presentations like this are allergic in origin-finding out what the reaction to is the key to prevention. Has your mate been given any drugs like banamine or antibiotics that she is not accustomed to recently? Have you changed feed or flysprays? Certain types of fly bites can cause break outs like this as well. By the time my patients are bad enough for hives I'll generally recommend an intravenous dosage of a steroid to counter the inflammation-this should be administered by your veterinarian-who can do a physical exam while they are there to make sure the heart and lungs also sounds ok. I hope this helps!

Hello. The only way to avoid the problem is to avoid the hay. I would definitely make sure you can get & keep some bute on your farm, & the first signs of stocking up, start the bute. If you can familiarize yourself with how the weed looks in the hay, you can pick through it to remove as much as you can. Good luck & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Do they have noise phobias? Meaning do they care when fireworks are set off. If they don't care, I don't see why their routine has to change. My dog could care less about fireworks or thunderstorms so we let him out (fenced yard). As long as your dogs aren't roaming out of the yard and aren't scared of fireworks I would keep things the same. If they are scared then do not let them outside at dusk when fireworks tend to be set off, especially alone. Keep them indoors with the TV AND radio on in the most insulated sound proof area of your home and talk to your Vet about medicating them BEFORE fireworks are set off. I wish you all the best!

How lucky of you to visit Germany recently! I would check to see if it's possible to ship the ones you like from Germany to Bosnia & Herzegovina. I'm not very familiar with the inventory of dog harnesses in your country, and given that many things can easily be shipped, it might be the best idea to have the cute and comfortable ones you say in Germany shipped to your home :-)
