Why is my French Bulldog not eating after her friend left?

At the moment I would not be extremely concerned but I would recommend to just monitor him for the next 8-12hours and see if inappetence is persisting or resolving by itself. If persisting a check up would be required.

Hi there! The clinical signs you describe are fairly non-specific and do not necessarily point out any specific condition. Having said that, you know Gigi more than anybody else so I trust you when you say that she is acting weird. Usually, when a dog does not feel well the first thing you will notice is decreased appetite. Given that her appetite is still good, she may be fine overall. It is unclear as to what is exactly is going on. Since she is otherwise doing fine, I would let this declare itself and not get too concerned just yet. If she continues to act like this for the next 24-48 hours, have her examined by your veterinarian to ensure that there is nothing else obvious on examination such as pain of some sort which can certainly explain the signs you described. However, it is very likely that she will normalize soon perhaps in a few days. One thing you can do is entice her appetite by adding things like pieces of chicken or beef to her food for a few days just to encourage her to eat. If there is no improvement in the next few days then have her examined by your veterinarian to ensure there is not a medical reason to explain this. Good luck!

Shaking can be a sign of pain or it could be a neurological condition causing muscle spasms. At either rate this sounds serious for Frank and he needs and exam and perhaps even some blood tests to determine what is happening internally. I would definitely recommend taking him in to your vet asap to hopefully find out what exactly is going on so that he is treated properly for it. Unfortunately there is no way to know how best to treat him without more information on his condition.

If your dog was having frequent diarrhea it is possible the intestinal tract was emptied out by this episode and there isn't much in the colon to actually poop out right now. If he is eating and drinking and energetic, I don't think this is an emergency situation, but I would continue to monitor Lou, and if he is still eating and doesn't start having bowel movements in the next 24 hours, or starts straining, becoming lethargic, vomiting or having diarrhea again, an exam is needed.

It sounds like Khloee is sick. I can't recommend a home remedy in this case because she won't even drink water, which worries me. She could easily become dehydrated from the diarrhea and not drinking. I would take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. This could also be due to the recent passing of her housemate. I recommend that you continue to monitor Zen for now. If her appetite has not improved in the next 72 hours, I recommend that you have Zen evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
