My dog is vomiting blood. Can I give her medicine at home?

There is no medicine that can be bought over the counter to treat Kisses. Vomiting blood for 3 days is very serious and she needs to be physically examined by a veterinarian. Unfortunately, there is very little you can do for Kisses without the aid of a veterinarian.

Cindy could have an infection, parasite, gastritis from something she ate, pancreatitis, ulcer, metabolic/endocrine disease. You could withhold food for the day and then try a bland diet, like chicken and white rice and see if that helps. If the vomiting continues or she becomes lethargic than she needs to be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can run lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help treat her problem. Hope she feels better soon.

I'm sorry to hear Maggie is vomiting. That is on the higher end of the dose range that dogs can tolerate for aspirin, and one of the known side effects to it can be GI upsets and ulcers. Her vomiting could also be unrelated to the aspirin and due to another underlying issue. I would recommend she be evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for her vomiting, have any necessary testing done (X-rays) and get started on any treatment (anti-nausea medication, antacid, bland diet, GI protectant) that may be needed. Poor Lady! Eating tissue paper should not normally cause any significant issues unless she ate a very large amount, so this is probably not related. Vomiting blood is always a very serious concern, so I would recommend taking Lady to the vet right away for an exam. She may have internal bleeding due to a stomach ulcer or foreign body, a GI illness such as pancreatitis or HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), or may have gotten into something toxic. Your vet can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment right away.

It sounds as Mila is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

That does sound concerning. It is possible that she is having another flare up of her previous ulcers. Other causes for diarrhea and vomiting with blood in it include Addison's disease, intestinal parasites, tick-borne diseases, IMHA, IBD, intestinal cancer, among many others. I would recommend that Gubbu get checked out by a vet as soon as possible. After physical examination and a review of her medical history, the vet may recommend bloodwork to check for anemia and other relevant things. They may also recommend an abdominal ultrasound, which will help use get a picture of what her digestive tract is doing and looks like.

I it may be a reaction to the medication or there could have been something else alreadybtherr that just didn’t show it self yet such as an infection. If you are displeased with your vet then you can seek a second opinion but i would give the vet a call or schedule a recheck to see if they want to change medications or do blood work to address the vomiting now. Since there is blood in the vomit I would recommend getting him rechecked to make sure it does not continue and he doesn’t get dehydrated from it
