My new dog has an upset stomach and bad poop despite good food.

I'm sorry to hear that Buster isn't feeling well! Vomiting and diarrhea can occur as a result of a virus, parasites, stomach upset from eating different foods or treats, among other health conditions. If he is acting normally and still able to keep water down, you can try monitoring him at home first by withholding food for 12-24 hours. After that time, offer a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days, then gradually transition back to his normal diet over another 5-7 days. However, if Buster's vomiting or diarrhea worsen, or if he becomes lethargic and stops drinking, a trip to the vet will be in order to assure that he has not become dehydrated and to get to the bottom of the problem. I'm sorry to hear that Stinky isn't feeling well. I can't tell if the soft stool are vomiting are common for her or a new thing. If long term (more than a month), it could be caused by intestinal parasites, food intolerance or allergy, or less likely an endocrine issue. If it's a sudden change, she could have caused an acute entrogastritis by eating something different/bad, could have an infection, or many other causes. If she's eating well and energetic, it's not generally an emergency and you can wait to see if she gets better with time. A daily probiotic can help (anything you find at a store is fine, or you can buy Fortiflora on Amazon). If the vomiting has been going on for more than a few days, or is frequent (more than a couple times a day) I would recommend a vet visit when possible

I'm concerned that Baxter is sick. If he's getting a new food, this blood in his stool could be due to that. It could also be due to intestinal worms, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, or a severe stomach illness. I think it's best you take him into a vet now to get checked out.

It sounds as Buzz is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti nausea injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

I'm sorry to hear Brodie is not doing well. I would definitely change him back to chicken and rice but I would go ahead and take him in since its been 3 or 4 days of an abnormal stool AND he vomited. They will likely check him for parasites and prescribe medications to calm his GI tract. Better to get in under control sooner rather than later. Hope Brodie feels better soon!

I agree, it sounds like the treats have caused this problem. Given that you have tried a bland diet with no success, it's time to see the vet. I would take them into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.

I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
