Hi, was the dental gel for dogs ? I doubt the diarrhoea was caused by it as the timeframe between the gel ingestion and diarrhoea is too small. It is more likely that Chi has picked up a virus or a bug that cause gastro-enteritis. Try to offer a bland diet and you could offer some probiotics.

With her breed, it is likely that she has dental disease and a tooth infection that may be causing this discomfort. Placing her on an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory such as Clindamycin and Meloxicam may certainly help reduce her discomfort and treat a dental infection. I hope this helps! This is a quite generic but concerning sign. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal or urinary tract diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy and hyperthermia for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic. A check up is needed if lethargy lasts for more than 24hours.
