Updated on September 23, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 18 days old | 8 lbs

My 3 month old Yorkie was licking my sons chocolate cookie he left on the ground for about 30 seconds. Is there a major concern or should I take him to the vet asap?

At this stage I would not be concerned. If the chocolate is milk chocolate, which it appears to be in the picture, and Melo only licked and didn't ingest any cookie he should be fine.

Signs to watch out for;
Shaking
Vomiting
Restlessness
Seizures
Collapse

As I mentioned though, I am not very concerned at this stage.
