My dog has fever, hair loss, and green eye discharge. What to do?

Draco does need to be seen by a vet today. The hair loss could be due to something like mange, allergies, or a skin infection. Scratching his bum could be due to anal sac impaction or intestinal worms. The green discharge from his urethra could be normal (it's called smegma), or it could be a sign of an infection. Please take him into a vet today.

Hair loss in that area is generally due to allergies, mites or less likely and autoimmune disease. You can try giving Shadow an over the counter antihistamine to see if it helps. Wipe his eyes out daily to keep them clean. If he is rubbing the eyes, put an elizabethan collar on him to protect them. If you are not seeing any improvement, or if he is getting worse, I would recommend a vet visit. Taking care of things early is much better. I hope this helps Shadow.

Skin lesions can be caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, immune system disorders, or a combination of the above. I recommend making an appointment to have Tanner seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the lesions you’ve noticed and to make sure they are treated appropriately. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine if there is an infection and to figure out what medication is appropriate for treatment. In the meantime, you can bathe Tanner in hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs to clean the area, but this will likely not resolve the lesions. Keep an e-collar (cone) on Tanner to help prevent licking/chewing at the affected areas and to prevent him from rubbing his eyes, as this can lead to infection and damage. It is very important that Tanner be seen by a vet for proper diagnosis and treatment of his eyes to determine if this is an infection, if it is due to allergies or trauma, if it is a corneal ulcer( a scratch on the eye), if it is a condition called "dry eye" that can lead to reduced tear production, or another condition that may need to be treated in a completely different manner. Over-the-counter medications are not recommended for use in treatment without a vet visit, as some types of eye ointments and drops contain steroids that can severely damage an eye that has sustained a corneal ulcer or trauma. Your vet may need to do some tests, which may include a Fluorescein stain to check for scratches, tonometry to test the eye pressures, and a Schirmer tear test to evaluate tear production, based on the vet’s ophthalmic exam findings.

I would consider oral steroids and oral antibiotics. I would also consider treating with with Nexgard to rule out demodex. I would also consider a different eye ointment, one with a steroid in it. Be sure your Vet checks to be sure he doesn't have a clogged tear duct or any other ocular issue that would cause increased tearing. I hope this helps and I wish you and Bruno the very best!

These signs could be compatible with a metabolic or possibly endocrine disorders. Diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, renal failure, liver problems can be all responsible for those signs. You need to take Ace to a vet for treatment, it sounds like he is very unwell. Weight loss and weakness are not good signs, I worry that he might have a bad infection or possibly a tumour. The vet would have to give him a thorough examination and possibly do some blood tests to know what is wrong. There isn't much you can do at home aside from feeding him tasty things like liver to try and support him.

Hello. This could be conjunctivitis, but there are several other conditions that can cause this kind or irritation, including demodex mites. You do want to find out what this is because I am sure Kirby is uncomfortable. And, if he rubs his eyes the wrong way, he could wind up scratching his cornea making things worse.
