Is it safe to use human saline solution for dog ear cleaning?

If it is just a saline eye wash than you can use it to clean her eyes. If she is having problems with her eyes than it would be a good idea to have a vet examine her to determine the cause. She may need medications to treat.

That is a mild amount of discharge that can easily cleaned with a some wet cotton (do not use cotton buds) ONLY on the outside of the ear canal (basically the bit you have taken the pics of). You can use a cleaning solution for the ears (Sancerum or Cleanaural) but only once a week or every two weeks. Hello, this should be ok to put in their nose, however, it may not treat any underlying infection your puppy may have as it is just saline. Additionally, using excessive amounts of this could cause further irritation of the nose. Finally, if not positioned correctly, then he could inhale some of this fluid and develop pneumonia. You should speak to your veterinarian before using the nasal spray to make sure its indicated to do so. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I don't recommend to use peroxide or any other product not tested and proven safe for pets. Instead use a cleaner (vets and pet stores carry these) that is meant for dog ears. These products will generally not overly dry the skin, cause damage to the ear drum (but if the ear drum is ruptured, any products applied in the ear will cause damage) and these products generally condition the skin as well. A quick search of this product shows that it's just saline, so it would be fine to use. Just double-check the ingredients list on the bottle/box and make sure. If you notice other ingredients and are unsure, then you can post a picture of the bottle/box and list the ingredients. I hope that helps and all is well with your mouse.

In my honest opinion, there are so many great ear cleansers out there I would always recommend buying one instead of making it. Years of research have gone into a lot of these products and they are truly the best to use on sensitive ears. If you are just cleaning for a maintenance clean or you are treating due to problems, it's always best to discuss the various products that your vet recommends. Homemade cleansers can often times not be pH balanced resulting in drying of the ear canal or pain/sting upon application. Good luck with Chloe.
