Can a cat's tooth infection raise globulin levels in blood tests?

I am assuming that you mean elevated globulin levels. Globulin is produced by the immune system of the body. Elevated globulin levels in dogs can be caused by Ehrlichia infection in dogs, canine heartworm infection, leishmania infection, chronic liver disease, lupus and other auto-immune type diseases, response to chronic infections and inflammations of many kinds, chronic and severe dental (periodontal) disease, and certain cancers.

Unfortunately ALP is such a vague value and does not tell us much in the way of specific diseases that it is not a very useful value. In older dogs with a high ALP, this may be a normal finding not related to any disease. Cushing's disease can cause an elevated ALP along with many other causes. If the ALP continues to rise or does not resolve, I would consider testing for Cushing's disease and have an abdominal ultrasound performed. Bronchitis and a tooth infection generally would not cause an increase in this value in my experience. I hope this helps! In his case, they are just very mildly elevated and not really something concerning. That could be due to some degree or inflammation that may resolve on its own. Best of luck!

I would agree with your veterinarian in that they probably need to sedate or put under anesthesia to be able to better evaluate this region. Then they can treat it accordingly. If it is found to be dental disease, they can correct it then. Best of luck!

This could be something else such as a mass which is why it has not resolved or perhaps an abscess that is not sensitive to the antibiotics that were used. Unfortunately, Bogu isn’t an easy case with a simple solution. High BUN with normal creatinine could indicate dehydration or early kidney disease. Anemia can be caused by chronic disease, autoimmune disease, parasitic disease or other infectious disease. Stomatitis can be cause by FeLV or FIV infection, other infections, ongoing bleeding, or autoimmune disease. Some cases of stomatitis can be cured after extracting all of the teeth, since it is often an immune reaction to tartar on the teeth. Since tartar cannot be completely prevented, removing the teeth and their roots is often the only solution. Short-term solutions for stomatitis include oral pain rinses, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and immune-suppressive doses of steroids.

Hi and thanks for your request. These signs could be due to severe gum inflammation and even infections, with abscesses building up on the dental roots (so sometimes not completely visible. These signs are quite concerning and another check up would be needed as antibiotics may be best given. Multiple dental extractions and cleaning are recommended in these cases.
