Sparks could have some sort of head trauma, a significant upper respiratory tract infection, or even an exposure to a toxin . I recommend he be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible so they can figure out exactly what's going on as well as recommend any further test such as blood work or x-rays. They will check to make sure that his eyes are ok- some cats get ulcers with an upper respiratory infection. They will check for a secondary bacterial infection that would need antibiotics. Sometimes- they will prescribe a nebulization solution which is to be used in a nebulizer to help open up his airways. It is important to make sure that he keeps eating. No, I don’t think he needs to go to the ER unless he is having problems breathing. You can just take him back to your regulate vet. My guess is that he has a herpes virus infection so please bring that up to your vet.
