My cat pressed his head against the wall once. Should I worry?

Head pressing can be a sign of a neurological/brain disease although i have seen healthy cat doing it occasionally. if this is something new that Tigra is doing very often i would recommend taking him to the vet in order to get it checked.

Hello, I am sorry this happened to little Shaman. With any head trauma you can see signs and concerns develop over the initial 12-24 hours as swelling can take time to occur in the head. If Shaman is eating/drinking, playing and acting normally, you can monitor for now, as long as you will be home and around to monitor Shaman. If you see Shaman vomiting, weak, tired, wobbly, not playing, not interested in food or other concerns, I would have Shaman seen right away. With no clinical signs at 50 minutes you are unlikely to see any concerns, however just keep a close eye on Shaman. Good luck with him!

First of all Purrito is one handsome little guy! The bump on his nose is fairly prominent and also appears to be a bit red/inflamed through the fur. Cats do not often get as many lumps and bumps as dogs do, so when one pops up, we take a bit more notice. Some of the common causes of bumps can include benign or malignant masses, abscesses, granulomas, or in this case, even nasal cavity infections or tumors. The only way to determine the cause of this bump is through further testing, either including a needle aspirate (a needle draws out some cells for microscopic evaluation), x-rays, or even a CT scan or MRI of the head. Even though Purrito does not seem to be bothered by this bump, I still recommend taking him to the vet for further evaluation since bumps do not often go away on their own. It's better to address these issues before they grow larger and become potentially more problematic. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

A small lump or bubble under the skin that is not painful is probably nothing to be concerned about, but it should still be looked at by a vet at some point - especially if it gets larger, changes color, or if Tater starts scratching or bothering it. At his young age, I'm not terribly concerned about anything serious - a bug bite, foreign object, or a sebaceous cyst could be the culprit. Also, if he's had his vaccinations recently (within the last few weeks), this could also be a local vaccine reaction (which is also usually nothing to worry about and generally resolves in a month or so). The shoulder region is a common injection location. If anything changes or gets worse, a vet visit is in order. Otherwise, it's probably fine to keep an eye on it. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Xiaoqi. Some cats will have abrasions to this area if they have been scratching at their ears. Have you noticed him doing this or shaking his head? If so, he may have an ear infection. You can also check the ears for redness or a waxy build up. If you notice these signs, then he will need to see a veterinarian. It's very rare for a cat to eat his own poop and the fact that he is also licking the walls make me suspect that he might be suffering from some sort of mineral or vitamin deficiency. i would recommend to take him to the vet for a checkup and in order to have a blood test done, hopefully this will help diagnose the condition.
