My new dog has no records. How do I find his breed & get vet care?
Hello. It is sometimes pretty difficult to try & obtain information from a previous owner, so it is best just to start fresh with everything. A good physical exam, heartworm test, fecal exam & update all the vaccinations, even if some of these were previously done. Make sure they scan Max for a microchip in case this was done by his previous owners. As to his breed, you can always pick up one of the Witness canine DNA kits online or at the bigger pet retailers & see what it comes back as. But I would guess at least some Yorkie & maybe Maltese or something similar in him. He is adorable! Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi and thank you for your question on PetCoach! From the pictures (cute by the way), I would say Eli may be a Bichon Frise or Bichon Frise mix. You can find out exactly what Eli is through genetic testing. It is a little expensive but is interesting and that way you can know for sure. Why is my dog weak, acting weird, and vomiting food for days?
I am sorry to hear that Holiday isn’t doing well. There can be many different problems that can cause the symptoms you are describing. Intestinal obstruction, Addison’s disease, kidney disease and cancer among many others. I would highly encourage you to have Holiday evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. After an examination they will recommend diagnostics to help them determine the diagnosis. I suspect they will want blood work and an x-ray. Best of luck and I hope Holiday improves soon.
