My dog sheds a lot. Can fish oil or omega-3s help, and is it safe?
Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible to cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset by giving too much fish oil. I really like the American journey wild Alaskan salmon oil product for this purpose. I think this product can help Buddy a lot with his hair coat. Good luck!

What's the best salmon dry dog food and is glucosamine for young dogs?
You can use Natures Recipe, Purina One or even Purina ProPlan. They all have salmon based formulas. I put the links to them in the answer for you also. I do recommend glucosamine/chondroitin for dogs, typically over 6 years old but any dog can always benefit from it. Hello. Honestly, I recommend either Nordic Naturals or Bayer Free Form Snip Tips. Both of these are highly recommended by veterinary dermatologists, too. You will need to call other veterinarians to see who carries Cytopoint. It is an excellent product & most of my clients love the convenience of only needing a simple injection once ever 6-8 weeks to control their pet's allergies. Hello. Any of the 3 will be fine. The problem with all 3 of these companies is they do absolutely no true feeding trials with their diets. All of their information comes out of a laboratory. There are basically only 3 companies that do actual feeding trials on living dogs, Hills, Royal Canin & Purina. If you want the best go with these, otherwise, any of the 3 you mentioned will be fine.
