Hello, and thanks for your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It's great that you're being conscientious about this! I recommend ceramic, glass, or stainless steel bowls. They tend to be cleaner, and are safe to throw in a dishwasher cycle now and then. I'd specifically avoid plastic. Hope that helps!

Oh no, it's not good that Milo ate this pad! I am having difficulties looking up the ingredients of the product since it is originally from Japan. There is the potential that it could contain ingredients toxic to Milo, and without seeing the ingredients myself, I can't say if he will be ok or not. I recommend calling the Pet Poison Hotline at 855-764-7661. There is a $59US charge for the call, but they have veterinary toxicologists available 24/7. You can tell them the ingredients of the KoolFever, and they can let you know what needs to be done for Milo. Good luck!

It's great that you want to be prepared for your new kitten! Aside from the obvious things for the kitten like food and water bowls, I'd recommend a tall scratching post and perch. Two litter boxes in different areas of the house are recommended. Canned kitten food (and canned adult cat food as Myla gets older) is preferred over dry food. It's fine that you wash their dishes with yours and use the same sponges. Just be sure to use lots of soap and hot water to kill any germs. Also make sure they are up to date on their deworming treatments, and wash your hands thoroughly after scooping Dollie's litter box :-)

My personal preference, completed unrelated to PetCoach or Petco, would be Cosequin ( http://www.cosequin.com/dogs/ ) or Dasuquin ( http://www.dasuquin.com/en/products/#dog ). Both are made by Nutromax Labs.
