Cephalexin and Simplicef are both cephalosporins, so they are the same group of antibiotics, but cephalexin is the generic name for a 1st generation cephalosporin and Simplicef is a trade name for Cefpodoxime which is a 3rd generation cephalosporin (so it is a newer drug) and works better in some circumstances. Here is more information on both drugs. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=538 https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2038 I hope that was helpful! I wish you all the best and hope that you can find an affordable price for your pets medication. Take care!

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to give out drug dosages without a veterinarian - client - pet relationship. If you are seeking this information, I would obtain it through a veterinarian in person or through a veterinary formulary such as Plumb's or Merck. Hope this makes sense.

This would depend on the type of antibiotic being treated. Do not medicate your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Inappropriate antibiotic use can lead to resistant bacteria and may complicate any underlying condition.
