Congratulations!! I would recommend making sure you get kitten appropriate toys, two litter boxes and kitten food. At 1 month of age I would recommend a wet kitten food. I would also recommend clumping litter for her. You can always get her other fun stuff like a soft bed for her. I would hold off on any treats until she gets used to her new home. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Poor Nala! I'm sorry she's upset! First of all, if there is any noise making part of the collar (a bell, a jingle, or even a tag hitting against a buckle, etc) that may be freaking her out. Secondly, if she is a strictly indoor cat, its reasonable to not worry about keeping a collar on her at all, though I would recommend that she be [microchipped](https://www.petcoach.co/article/the-importance-of-microchipping-your-pet/) in case she ever does get out. The feel of this color, or maybe the smell, could also be the issue. If its the smell, you can set the collar out in your house for a few days, put it in her bed, or under your pillow, and try again in a few days.[ Feliway spray](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/feliway-spray) may also help--this is a pheromone product that you can spray on the collar, which should help it have a more soothing effect. If it is the feel of the collar you can either decide to give her time to see if she gets used to it, or just punt the idea of a new collar. Again, for what its worth, its not wrong to NOT have a collar on an indoor only cat. I hope that is helpful for you! Thanks for asking PetCoach!

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If Mr. Sassy is not microchipped, I would recommend having this done. You can find all sorts of GPS tracking collars as well for cats. Findster and TabCat are two examples of GPS collars that I have seen. Once you have moved and are in your new place, it will take some time for your cat to get used to the new surroundings. I would recommend keeping him indoors for at least 6-8 weeks before letting him outside. You might even consider walking him on a leash around the property so that he is used to the outside. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.

Hello. The cats & kittens offered at Petco are actually managed by individual rescue groups. Prices will differ from rescue to rescue. All cats can do well if they are played with & fussed over once you get home. Can they get into trouble & sometimes make a mess? Absolutely. If you do not want hair & dander & kitty litter tracked all over the house, you should not have a pet. Cats may need to have their claws trimmed ( NOT REMOVED ) & plenty of opportunities to exercise their claws, otherwise they will scratch your furniture, moldings & walls. You will need different types of scratching surfaces, plenty of toys, a water & food dish, litter box ( or 2 ), & lots of patience. All cats are individuals, so when you go looking to adopt a cat, take your family & give yourself plenty of time to spend with your potential pet, & ask lots of questions about them. Good luck & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

I haven't used Beaphar products before, but just looking at their ingredients, I would probably recommend using their treats for the actual drive because it has 3 different ingredients that may help with stress. If you think that needs to be combined with a longer lasting product, it looks like the collar has both Valerian and lavender, while the spot on only has Valerian. But if your cat is not used to wearing a collar, then she may not tolerate the collar well. I would contact the company to discuss the specifics of your move and ask them for a recommendation. As far as other products to consider to help stranger cats get along, I have a couple suggestions (although the Beaphar products may be very helpful). The goal is to decrease stress between the cats. One option for decreasing stress is to add a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) to your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. I have also had luck with Rescue Remedy ( http://www.bachflower.com/rescue-remedy-pet/ ) which can be added to the water. You could also consider calming music specifically for cats ( http://throughadogsear.com/tace/through-a-cats-ear-1-music-for-calming/ ). Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
