Petco should have an inflatable collar that works like an e-collar. It looks a lot like an inflated inner tube and it helps keep her from being able to turn her head far enough to reach her incision site.

Yes, you can use an unscented sanitary pad in a doggie diaper. You may ask your veterinarian if changing medications may help to urine leakage. There are a couple products (incurin and Proin) that tend to work well but with the heart enlargement and arrhythmia, your vet will need to decide if these medications are worthwhile. You may also look for a water proof cover to keep over the bed to at least decrease the mess. Make sure to have Vivi's urine checked regularly for bladder infections because she is more prone to them. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! You have a few options here. You could get a muzzle to avoid getting bit. You could consider bathing him which will make the lump of feces more manageable when is wet. Also, you could consider using an e-collar so that it is difficult for him to get around you to potentially bite. Good luck!

Hello. I am so sorry that Max has had such a serious surgery. It is very normal for him to be sleepy as his body has undergone a very trying trauma. Plus, there is still some residual anesthetic drugs in his system. If he needs assistance getting up, placing a towel around his chest & using this as a lift device will help. Otherwise, you might just put some absorbent pads under him so that if he pees, it will at least keep him a little drier. He should feel better tomorrow & get stronger each day. I do hope Max is feeling better soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. I would recommend adding 1 tbsp of canned pumpkin to his diet and see if this helps normalize his bowel movements. If by the bandage change he has not defecated, you can discuss other options with your veterinarian. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
