Antibiotics that could be prescribed for secondary skin infections include Clavamox and Cephalexin among others. The type of antibiotic prescribed by your vet depends on the type of bacterial infection they find on Keo's skin. Again, all prescription medication should be used under the direct supervision of your veterinarian.

Unfortunately, it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to prescribe any drugs without seeing the animal in person first. In order to have antibiotics recommended and prescribed, Sandy will have to see a vet.

This would depend on the type of antibiotic being treated. Do not medicate your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Inappropriate antibiotic use can lead to resistant bacteria and may complicate any underlying condition.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Chronic ear infections are likely allergy related. I recommend changing Sampson's diet. Chicken is the most common allergic protein. I would try a venison, beef, or all fish diet. You need to give the diet 2-3 months and he can not get any other foods: No table food, no milk bones, non raw hides, etc. The only treats he can get would be ones that have the new protein in it. Your Vet is the only place you can get antibiotics sadly. You can try calling them and seeing if they will prescribe something if they have seen him recently. Otherwise if you can't get him in the car I would find a mobile Vet to come to your house. I hope this helps and I wish Sampson the best!

Hello. Antibiotics may help, but probably will not cure Snow. I would recommend weekly medicated baths using a product with benzoyl peroxide &/or weekly dipping with a product containing lime sulfur. This is antibacterial & antifungal & will also kill some parasitic mites. Weekly treatments for a month is often very helpful & may be curative. If you think she needs antibiotics, it is best to see a veterinarian as to what is best & how much to give. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
