Hello, thank you for using PetCoach! Here is a link explaining more about miliary dermatitis. I cannot tell if that is exactly the problem based on that one photo. ( https://www.petcoach.co/cat/condition/feline-miliary-dermatitis/ ) For a cat, I would use this leave on mousse product as treatment. I would apply it once a day in the beginning and once the clinical signs start to dissipate you can then go to every 2 or 3 days. Continue use until all the bumps on the skin are gone. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-6673-douxo-chlorhexidine-climbazole-mousse-for-dogs-and-cats-68-oz.aspx?SearchTerm=duoxo%20mousse+Auto ) A good over the counter flea prevention for cats is Cheristin. I would apply the Cheristin and then wait 24 hours before bathing or using any topical products. If the miliary dermatitis is from fleas, you need to apply this EVERY month. If you are having a flea problem then you definitely should treat the environment for fleas as well, otherwise you have a major infestation in your house. I think this product is the best. Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

This could be a novel protein diet if Trixie has never had tuna or pumpkin before, but most cats have had tuna in food at some point in their lives. Natural Balance also does not have a boarded nutritionist on staff and I believe Royal Canin has more quality control measures in place to ensure there is no contamination. Ultimately it comes down to what works best for Trixie - check in with your vet, but I’d guess that it’s fine to try this food and see if she has a flare up of her symptoms.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I like Bravecto for flea and ticks. It is a topical that works for 3 months. Then I would use interceptor monthly for heartworm and intestinal parasites. Or you can use Advantage Multi and the Seresto collar for the ticks. But you are right there isn't a product that gets everything for dogs or cats. Have a great day!

Great question! There are so many products it can be hard to navigate. If you are already using advantage multi for fleas and heart worm prevention there are several options you could add in for tick control. If you like collars you could try the Preventic collar (different ingredients than seresto). https://m.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=1254 Alternatively you could discuss using one of the oral flea and tick preventatives (nexgard or simparica) staggered 2 weeks from the advantage multi. https://m.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=9547+29385+28648&pcatid=28648
