Is diluted dog shampoo safe to spray on my dog before brushing?
Hello. This product does have some shampoo in it, so you can see if this leaves a soapy residue on Callie's coat after spraying her. If there is not too much residue, then diluting before brushing should be fine. If not, you may still need to rinse her off. They do make leave on dry shampoos & conditioners for dogs. What dog shampoo is best for a healthy coat and skin problems?
It depends on what you are using the shampoo for. If it is just maintenance baths I recommend an oatmeal based pet shampoo. You can get one at any pet store. Do not use a human shampoo as you can dry out their skin. If Honey is having a skin problem I recommend a shampo from a veterinarian, depending on the issue. How do I pick the right shampoo for my German Shepherd's coat health?
I use different shampoos depending on the coat. If he’s a GSD with oily skin I use an anti seborrhea shampoo. If his skin is dry or itchy I use a mild hypoallergenic shampoo. If he’s had skin infections I recommend a medicated shampoo. I often have several shampoos around and adjust them depending on his coat condition at the time of bathing.
