Hello. I do not know what might be available in Canada, but I highly recommend looking at this website for the Veterinary Oral Health Council. Click on the Accepted Products link at the top, then on accepted products for cats. It will list everything that is truly tested to provide results. Thanks for using PetCoach. https://www.vohc.org

Congratulations!! I would recommend making sure you get kitten appropriate toys, two litter boxes and kitten food. At 1 month of age I would recommend a wet kitten food. I would also recommend clumping litter for her. You can always get her other fun stuff like a soft bed for her. I would hold off on any treats until she gets used to her new home. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If you are looking for ways to enrich your cat, you can purchase things like a cat tree for it to climb on, or toys for it to play with. Cats tend to enjoy Temptations cat treats, though they are high calorie and should only be given in moderation. I hope this is helpful!

Yes, it is OK to give kittens treats, but make sure that they do not make up more than 10% of her diet. If you decide to change brands of food, make sure to transition slowly over a period of a few days to a week to make sure that she does not get any GI upset due to a diet change. I rotate my cats' food regularly and they do not have any GI problems, but until you know about Callie, I would take it slowly. I think rotating brands is a good idea as long as she tolerates it well. We normally recommend changing from kitten to adult food around 6 months of age. I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Limit table food as much as possible. It is fine to give a tiny bit as a treat or reward occasionally as long as it does not contain onion or garlic. Cat specific treats can be used as rewards for positive behavior and during play. Again, limit quantities to avoid obesity.
