I'm a nervous mom too, so I certainly understand what you are going through. The way most vet clinics do surgery is that we try to do all surgeries before 1 pm, so they have at least a few hours to recover before they are sent home. Most vets prefer to do dog spays first, so Sienna may already be done with surgery! Often, we do not call after each surgery is over, but will call after all surgeries are over for the day to verify pick up time. But every vet clinic does things differently, so I can't be sure how your vet clinic does things. I'm sure everything is going well, but if you really need to know if Sienna is done with surgery, you can always call to check on her. It certainly wouldn't be the first time an owner has called to check on their baby. Good luck! I hope that made you feel a little better. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Maisy is so cute! It may be just fine but here are a few ideas: 1) consider a dog walker/Sitter to come visit once or twice a day to play or walk 2) if work allows, you can start with half days and see how she does 3) there are video camera systems that allow you to see and even talk to your pet when you’re away 4) try treats and toys that take a while such as Kongs with peanut butter inside or chew bones. 5) if you haven’t already, consider crate training, which can actually alleviate anxiety. Best of luck in the new place!

A collar and leash would be a great idea! But know that it takes time for puppies to get used to a leash - I just want her to be safe! A small carrier if you do not plan to hold the puppy the whole trip. Usually the breeder will tell you what kind of food that Ginger has been on so you can purchase some ahead of time. If you want to switch the food, gradually mix them together to transition her to the new food over 2-4 weeks. Ask for any records of shots or dewormers that the breeder has given so you can take them to Ginger's first vet appointment. I recommend a checkup with a vet within the first few days to test Ginger for intestinal parasites and any obvious congenital problems (like a heart murmur or abdominal hernia). Some puppies can become car sick, but it should wear off within a few hours of being home. She may also miss her litter mates and be sad for a few days. Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Gus. Congrats on your new puppy! It's fine to take him to the house, but not on the beach. Do not let him have contact with other dogs unless they are family dogs who are fully vaccinated. I hope this helps!

If you're asking about Riley's breed, we can do our best to make a guess based on a photo - you can request a consultation with one of us if you want to upload pictures of her for us to look at. Otherwise, you can order a cheek swab DNA test kit to help determine what breed she is - www.wisdompanel.com
