Hi Diana, I have not yet tried the Nylabone Healthy Edibles with my dogs, but I just looked at the ingredients and think they might be a nice treat for Joey. Certainly, I always recommend monitoring a dog with any edible chew because they will sometimes bite off too large of a chunk, but I suspect that will be less of a problem with the Healthy Edibles than some of the other chew options on the market. If Joey has a problem with allergies, my favorite chews are Honest Kitchen Beams (https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/beams?gclid=Cj0KEQjwmK3OBRDKjN-L55---_UBEiQAOL6t1ONBCfGAKhdZ3BxXNOpy4Q4FLZFPR0lX79hOaIj9CO0aApIM8P8HAQ) and Sam's Yams (sweet potato treats). I hope that was helpful! Thanks for using PetCoach.

Brody is very handsome! I would not give any treats if he is on a hypoallergenic diet. I do have a recipe from Hills you can use to make treats with the food he is on. That way you are not adding anything extra to his diet. https://www.hillspet.com/dog-care/nutrition-feeding/healthy-homemade-dog-treats Thank you for using PetCoach.

This bar is fine to give Trip, but if he's going on long hikes and is very active, a high performance dog food may be better for him. That will give him the extra calories and energy he needs for these long hikes. Royal Canin has a high performance line of food, and you can check that out. The bar should only be an occasional treat.

Thank you for submitting your question and congratulations on your first dog! Treats should not comprise more than 10% of the diet. They should be given in small amounts. If you are giving Milk Bones, by the tiny size and only give several a day. Most dogs in this country are overweight. Being strict with his diet from the start with help to prevent this from occurring with him. As far as the best chew, it is based on the individual dog. The chew needs to be something he enjoys, but more importantly something he cannot break pieces off and swallow. This can become a surgery to remove. I hope this information helps!

Hi and thanks for your question. If the earth bars had a lot of fat and/or chocolate in them, then that may be a concern. Chocolate can be quite toxic to dogs and a high amount of fat can cause stomach upset and pancreatitis. If the bars had raisins in them, that would also be a red flag. Raisins can cause renal failure in dogs. Macadamia nuts are also another toxic food found in health bars. If these contained anything mentioned above, you may want to see you veterinarian as soon as possible. I hope this helped.
