Hi and thanks for posting! I would try and stick with low fat treats that contain less than 10 percent fat. Actually, some of the best and healthiest treats are fruits and veggies you may have in your own kitchen! Green beans, carrots, apple bits, and blueberries are all delicious and healthy snacks that Ernie might enjoy. I hope this helps!

Every dog is a little different and you may have to experiment a bit to find the food that Roscoe tolerates the best. I don't know what your budget is, or what is specifically available in your area, but here are a few brand options: Natural Balance Taste of the Wild Merrick Canidae Most of these brands offer grain free treats as well. The key to doing treats while a dog is on an elimination diet is to use treats that have the same ingredients as the food you are trying. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to use canned food of the variety and flavor that you are using to put in a Kong or bake into treats. Other options would be to use sweet potato chews if the food you are feeding has sweet potatoes in it (which Zignature kangaroo does not) or giving dehydrated chews that are the same meat source that you are feeding (which will be a challenge for a kangaroo food). So, for the food you are feeding right now, the best option may be to use canned Zignature kangaroo to create treats for Lucy. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. A few general recommendations: stick with well known brands with a good reputation. Look for products made in the USA. Kibble works great for treats and I use Purina Pro Plan chicken or lamb and rice. Dry biscuit type treats usually have less calories and salt. The jerky or moist type treats are fine in moderation (they have more calories and salt usually). Lastly, many dogs really like dehydrated chicken livers and chicken jerky. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I have no issues with those ingredients. Daisy is a very lucky dog to have someone make her healthy homemade treats! Here is another dog treat recipe that my dogs approve of: https://bitzngiggles.com/homemade-peanut-butter-cheerio-dog-treats/
