The key to doing treats while a dog is on an elimination diet is to use treats that have the same ingredients as the food you are trying. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to use canned food of the variety and flavor that you are using to put in a Kong or bake into treats. Other options would be to use sweet potato chews if the food you are feeding has sweet potatoes in it (which Zignature kangaroo does not) or giving dehydrated chews that are the same meat source that you are feeding (which will be a challenge for a kangaroo food). So, for the food you are feeding right now, the best option may be to use canned Zignature kangaroo to create treats for Lucy. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. It sounds like PhatPhat has underlying allergies. That being said, it is not likely to be a true food allergy. If you play the odds, it is more likely to be an environmental allergy. The only way to know for sure if she has a food allergy is to have her allergy tested. I would really recommend you have that done. To answer your question specifically about dog food that is small bites and no red dye, I would recommend this one. I like Missing Link Original. If your local Petco does not carry it you can order it online or ask you local store manager to order it for you. ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/brand/the-missing-link ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Yes! It definitely sounds like he needs some omega 3 fatty acids. These treats look like a good source. I also like vetriscience omega 3 fatty acid product. I’ll attach the link below. I hope this helps!

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! PlaqueOff is a great product to try. We currently use the powder formulation for dogs and cats but if they have treats for cats this should be absolutely safe to try. As with any supplement, there are no guarantees it will work but it is worth a try. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
