For short walks, a few minutes, she can probably go out as is. If you plan on spending more than 5-10 minutes outside or if Maggie takes a long time to do her business, then you may want to consider booties and a coat. Many dogs can be trained to run on a tread mill! This is commonly used for dogs who live in cold climates or have owners who are not able to tolerate cold weather. A trainer or behaviorist can help in the training but many people figure it out at home often with the help of guide books and videos. If Nyssa likes to play tug of war, purchase a tug toy and set aside 20 minutes a day to play with her. This is a good, dry/warm indoor activity! Many dogs don't mind playing ball in the snow or snow shoeing even! As long as conditions are safe and not icy, a good walk/jog or bike ride can be accomplished even in cold weather. Some people even ski with their dogs! If there is snow or rough terrain, she may need protection for her paws. Many cities now offer pools for dog swimming which can certainly tire them out. If Nyssa is good with other dogs and likes to play, doggie day care offers an indoor/dry option for her. Additionally, if you work long hours, websites such as Rover.com offer dog walking services so Nyssa can be taken out while you work. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

I would get them doggie sweaters! This will help keep them warm both inside and outside the house. They can wear the sweaters indoors, and you can also get thick doggie coats for them to wear outside. Pet stores will carry these, and some of the stuff they have is really cute. I'd buy those for your dogs. I hope this helps!

Batman is cute!!!! I would recommend a coat for sure when he goes outside. If he is going outside for longer then 10 minutes, I would also recommend boots (if he will wear them). These little ones lose body heat quickly. Thank you for using Pet Coach!

Ruffwear is generally considered one of the best apparel companies for pets. Otherwise it is all highly variable. I recommend to look at product recommendations online. Any boot is liable to cause annoyance to a pet since they are not use to wearing them. Petsmart and Petco both tend to carry products that work well and are durable. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
