Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It looks a little red but it could just be the coloring of the picture. As long as there is no heat, swelling or discharge it should be ok. There is a doughnut collar that may work- it blows up around the neck. A shirt would work too. One of those should help you out. Should I get a new bowl for my anxious rescue dog who won't eat?
Considering that her history is not known and her being a rescue, she could have a nervous/anxious behaviour and anything (even a reflection) could actually disturb her meal. I would recommend to wait a bit longer until she gets used to the new environment and then, if nothing changes, buy a new bowl.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The Science diet sensitive skin and stomach is quite good. I really like all the Nylabone products. I find that dogs really like them and they are fairly inexpensive. They also seem to help with cleaning the teeth a bit. Have a good day!

What treats and toys are best for a new dog I'm bringing home?
Thank you for submitting your question. Congratulations on your new dog! Indestructible toys are going to be best until you see how aggressive of a chewer he or she will be. Young puppies are not as destructive as older puppies and adult dogs. You may want to try a variety of products to see what this dog will like best. Kongs, puzzle toys and Nylabones are a good variety. You just want to make sure that pieces cannot be bit off of any toy. Nylabones can be hard on the teeth if the dog chews too aggressively. As far as treats, start with peices of the dog's regular kibble. There will be a lot of stress with moving to a new home. Additional diet changes can lead to diarrhea. I hope this information helps!
