This answer partially depends on what the problem is. However, the most common thing we will recommend for GI health is probiotics (often in conjunction with pre-biotics). Probiotics are the good bacteria in the GI tract that help it stay healthy. There are a number of products on the market. Some are more complete than others. One good product is called Entero TruBenefits. You can find that here. http://www.vrshealth.com/canine-products/?petcoach=1977957 Nutramax makes a good formula called ProViable. And VetriScience makes a nice probiotic formula that is comes in a chewable tablet. I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thanks for using PetCoach.

I am not familiar with Dr. Jeff's products. So sorry. I'm not really sure what you are looking for in a supplement? An immune system booster? Just a vitamin? Probiotics? Skin/Coat health? Joint health? I would recommend this one for Immune health: https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=133838 Pet Tabs are the tried and true multivitamin for dogs. It has been around for a long time. Excellent company and product with no previous issues. Cost effective. Very palatable so dogs like it. I use it with my own dogs. https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=100461 I hope I answered your question. If you would like to post again with more specifics as to what you are looking for we may be able to help you better.

That is a sensible supplement protocol. A joint pill is always good, fish oil can help with skin, and Glandex is good for anal sac issues. No, they don't need probiotics and enzymes on a regular basis. Probiotics are good to give in cases of diarrhea, but on a daily basis have no value. Enzymes have no value either, everything Chloe needs will be gotten from her dog food.

I think probiotics can be helpful for dogs with sensitive stomachs, especially those that have diarrhea. Most probiotics have other ingredients in them to make them more palatable and if you feel Brutus gets stomach upset you should stop them. I don’t think digestive enzymes are particular helpful unless a dog has a diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

I'm so sorry that Bernard is having these problems. It sounds like he needs more diagnostics and treatment than a Petco wellness center can provide. The wellness centers are just for vaccinations and basic wellness testing. Bernard should have more testing than that to determine what is going on the best way to treat it. Older dogs can become sick more quickly than younger dogs, so I would try to have Bernard seen as soon as possible. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Bernard feels better soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
