My favorite brands of food are Acana, Origen, Lotus and Hobest Kitchen. You can see if they are available in your area. Some of the freeze dried raw diets such as honest kitchen are very palatable to picky eaters. I also find that adding fish oil and warm water to dry kibble can be very appetizing. It is also a very healthy supplement for them.

Hello. The food toppers are not considered complete foods & they are not nutritionally balanced. If he is eating the recommended amount of dry food for his age & weight, then you can continue with the food topper, but if not & you want to increase his nutritional intake of a balanced diet, then it is best to mix a good canned or wet food in with his dry instead of using the topper. Personally, I feel that if the topper is not nutritionally balanced, then you are feeding empty calories & the only ones who benefit from these products are the manufacturers. Real Nature seems to be a very high quality food, it is not one i am familiar with but the ingredient list is quite impressive. if he is doing well on this brand i would probably stick with it. other excelent options include Orijen, Acana and taste of the wild.

Taste of the Wild is a great food, but it is what we call a premium food. Premium foods do not contain any fillers, so the food is more bio-available. What that means is that Luna will need to eat less of Taste of the Wild than Science Diet. Usually, I recommend starting on the low end of the feeding recommendation on the bag, but sometimes we have to go even lower than that depending on an individual dog's metabolism. So, be sure to monitor Luna's weight because keeping her lean is the best thing for her health. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Being a smaller dog, he May not necessarily be getting bored with his kibble. Smaller dogs can be quite picky and selective about what they eat. Especially if they've already been introduced to flavorful dog treats and/or people food. For itchy skin I like Natural Balance LID (Limited Ingredient Diet). The Organix wet food you fed may have been the 3.5oz stew bowl and those may be too rich for Cookie. So you could try just the 12.7 oz cans instead of go with Natural Balance LID dry and wet.
