Vet authorized diets are typically needed only when a pet has specific health issues, but learning about how they're different from "normal" foods can help you be a more well-rounded pet parent.

Hopefully it is the same medication, although there have been lawsuits about mislabeled and counterfeit medications with online pharmacies. Also, you do need a prescription from your veterinarian in order to purchase these products. I would recommend visiting with your veterinarian, as there is a possibility they may price match for you. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

It sounds like you may need a prescription strength medicine to help your dog become more comfortable. Your vet will need to examine your dog to ensure they are otherwise healthy (and to start a valid client/ patient/ vet relationship to legally dispense medicine) and then will decide which medicine would work best. There are newer products such as Apoquel and Cytopoint which may be appropriate. Your vet may also suggest an eye ointment to apply. You are welcome to request a consultation with one of the Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach veterinarians to prepare for your vet visit.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Augmentin or Clavamox are typically effective for skin infections, but Cephalexin is generally more commonly used. Common ophthalmic antibiotics often include Neomycin or Orbifloxacin. I hope this is helpful!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Chronic ear infections are likely allergy related. I recommend changing Sampson's diet. Chicken is the most common allergic protein. I would try a venison, beef, or all fish diet. You need to give the diet 2-3 months and he can not get any other foods: No table food, no milk bones, non raw hides, etc. The only treats he can get would be ones that have the new protein in it. Your Vet is the only place you can get antibiotics sadly. You can try calling them and seeing if they will prescribe something if they have seen him recently. Otherwise if you can't get him in the car I would find a mobile Vet to come to your house. I hope this helps and I wish Sampson the best!

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Hazel. Unfortunately it's illegal for us to prescribe medication without seeing her in person. You cannot get a prescription online. If she does have an ear infection, she will have to see a vet to get it treated. It's very important to take her into a vet as leaving this untreated can lead to hearing loss. Best of luck.
