Down & Dirty Directions: 1.Pour enough litter into a clean box, covering the bottom to a depth of at least 3 inches. 2.Each day remove your cat's business (#1 and #2) with a sifting litter scoop. Dispose of waste in trash receptacle. Clean the litter box regularly with warm water and mild detergent. 3. Replenish used litter with new litter as needed to maintain a depth of at least 3 inches. Replacing litter often will help minimize odors.
FOR PET USE ONLY. Keep out of reach of children. Inspect regularly and replace when litter becomes damp and/or soiled. A parasite found in cat feces may cause toxoplasmosis, especially in pregnant, nursing, or immunocompromised persons. Consult your physician for more information. Wash hands well after handling soiled litter. Dispose of litter in trash. Do not flush in toilets or dispose of in gutters or storm drains. Store in a cool, dry place.

For years, I have been buying the 30 lb bags because it's a much better deal. The 30 lb bags have been out of stock for several months now and that size isn't available for autoship. Has Petco stopped selling that size permanently and if so, why?
- Hi, Petco has permanently discontinued the 30 lb bulk bags of the So Phresh Odor-Lock Crystal Cat Litter. The decision to phase out the 30 lb size and shift completely to the 15 lbs bag (SKU 3045108) was primarily driven by standard retail packaging optimization, shipping efficiency, and consumer feedback regarding the heavy handling weight of bulk crystal silica. Because the 30 lb bag has been formally removed from Petco's active manufacturing and distribution catalog, it is no longer open for physical store restocking or eligible for Repeat Delivery/Autoship configurations. I have noticed a change in this product in the last year. It became much more fine and kicking up a lot of dust in the air. Has anyone else noticed this and has anyone asked Petco what is happening? Are they trying to introduce a more expensive product?

Will this be harmful for my kitten if ingested?? I keep catching her playing with a few pieces that fall out of the litter box (we rescued her from the street so she's very open to sticking everything in her mouth" I will switch litters if she continues.
- Although the litter is nontoxic, it shouldn’t be eaten. You know those little packets that come in some food products to keep moisture to a minimum; the ones that say “do not eat?” That’s the same stuff as this litter, just on a smaller scale. A little bit can cause upset stomach, a lot can cause GI blockage. It absorbs up to 40 times it’s weight in water, but that’s only if it’s not already completely saturated when you get it.

What is this litter made from?
- You may already have researched the Petco site to find this: "So Phresh Scoopable Odor-Lock Clumping Micro Crystal Cat Litter unique. It is made from ultra-fine silica gel crystals in a lightweight formula that absorbs odors as well as liquid."I've used it for years and love it. Wouldn't use anything else.

How often does the manufacturer recommend changing the litter? I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes.
- I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes. I scoop boxes frequently and change them every other week. I really like the sophresh, it keeps the odor down better than other litters I've tried.

We have 5 cats and 4 boxes. We just starting using this product, but am not sure how often it should be completely changed out. Any advice?
- We have a room with 4-5 cats (2 in and out of the room) and 2 xl litter boxes. We have another XL litter box in the rest of the house for 3 cats (2 in and out of the room) and 1 large litter box in the bedroom for 2 cats (1 in and out of the room). We began using the crystal litter when we moved into our new home 6 weeks ago and we're still playing with how long we go before changing it out. We scoop 2 times a day only the poop. I think we should do it every 10 days but I prefer to change them out on the weekend so we've been going every 2 weeks, which seems to work well as long as there is plenty of litter in the boxes. Some times toward the end of the 2 weeks, I'll scoop the pee where it's very yellow bc my cats tend to pee in the same place inside the box.

Is this litter artificially colored like some of the others? I'm a big fan of crystal litter, but there's no need for added dyes in litters. Would like to give this a shot if there is an uncolored formula.
- The color is not natural. My guess is that they do it to make it look like more expensive color-indicating silica gel. This is an industrial product not originally intended for this purpose but purchased cheap, packaged agreeably and sold for a price indicative of higher quality.

what does it mean when the crystals turn green
- It means the blue-colored crystals have adsorbed (yes, aDsorbed, not absorbed) as much yellow urine as they can, turning green.
