MedicationsMy Boston Terrier has bumps on his back. Is it fleas or allergies?
Hi, thanks for using PetCoach!
One of the first things you will want to make sure is that you have good flea and tick control for Jaxon. Numerous good options are available over-the-counter such as Advantix II and Seresto. These are also available on Amazon.com
K9 Advantix II for Dogs 11 to 20 lbs - 6 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006O073DM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nOeUzb2XDAWKP
Bayer Seresto Flea and Tick Collar for Small Dog, up to 18 lb, 8 Month Protection https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B8CG58U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0OeUzbFAX8V5M
Use as labeled.
Unfortunately, there are a number of other things that could be going on, so if flea and tick prevention doesn't solve it, you will need to have Jaxon examined by a vet. Another recommendation is bathing every 7-14 days with a non-colloidal oatmeal shampoo available at pet supply stores. Use lukewarm to cool water as it is better for their skin. Avoid getting soap in the eyes, mouth, and nose. Do not bathe more frequently unless directed by a veterinarian.
Hope this helps! Skin issues can be very frustrating as they often take a long time to resolve, but hopefully Jaxon's will not have that problem.
