I give a few pieces per day to 3 of my cats to help keep their teeth as healthy as possible, in addition to Greenies, OxyFresh, & VetraDent. (Because of course none will tolerate toothbrushing!) They all love it, and I do think it helps some. My senior boy has had chronic dental disease with multiple extractions since he was 3 years old; but my younger 2 so far are still grade 0-1.

My cat liked the flavor! My can is an indoor cat so dental disease sting up quickly. Over time, her oral health improved, giving longer time between necessary dental cleanings!

We started using this for our three cats at our vet’s suggestion due to signs of dental disease in our oldest cat. We mix it with a smaller low calorie kibble they were already used to, and a bag lasts a long time. They go through and pick out and eat the dental care kibble pieces first. They love the taste and we love the easy alternative to expensive and risky dental cleanings at the vet.

One of our cats would love this for their food all the time but we do a blend of foods to ensure they are getting everything they need. She will literally eat these first and then eat the other foods if she has to.

My husband is a vet tech, and brought home a sample bag for our boys. I was worried that the pieces would be too large for our little 10 year old Cornish Rexes to chew, but they're crazy about this food! I mixed it with their regular senior food and put it into their automatic feeder, and they will scrap over who gets the big nuggets when they come out, and sometimes they will pester me until I put a handful into the feeder tray. To the people who said that the pieces are too big, that is the entire point of the food - the larger pieces force your cat to chew instead of swallowing it whole as they often do with regular dry food. I highly recommend to give this food a try.

Can I mix this with other kibbles, like adult indoor or perfect weight? And do I need to slowly transition from one to another? Like can I immidiately switch from indoor adult to perfect weight?

When you mix Hill's products together or mix another brand of pet food with our products, you may minimize these benefits. What is the Ash content? My cat has a problem eating plastic, and I was told by someone that had a cat who did the same thing, to try a food with a low Ash content, to help stop his cravings for the plastic.

Is this product okay for a dog (Dachshund) We like the size - Are the ingredients somewhat like the Oral Care for dogs.

We do not recommend feeding your dachshund the cat version of the food. Dogs and cats have very different nutritional needs. We recommend that dogs and cats be fed a product specifically formulated for their nutritional requirements. Cats require a higher protein diet. High protein in a dog's diet may actually be detrimental to their health.
