I bought this four days ago and put it in my 20 gallon turtle tank, this filter pump is complete piece of junk. My water is cloudy, the tank was completely re-cleaned before putting this pump in. The pump is complete trash.

Customer Care

Hi Tony. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the Zoo Med Turtle Clean 40 Deluxe Filter. We understand the importance of maintaining clear water and effective filtration in a turtle habitat for every pet and pet parent. If you’d like further assistance, please reach out at petco.com/contact-us.

I have tried several filters which all have worked good. But as my turtles have grown, I have had to upgrade to different filters. This one was recommended to me and so far has worked great! I have 2 red ear sliders, have had issues with food matter keeping the tank clear. This one has provided good clean water and no cloudiness. It’s easy to use, just snap in the cartridges, install the black bar and put in your tank. My turtles love to play on the water flow coming from the tube. Can recommend highly!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this in a pinch when my old filter got destroyed by a power outage and it works great. I’m not using it in a 40 gallon tank but it’s nice for my 25 gallon one. I honestly don’t know why it has bad reviews because it works just fine for me. I also love how nearly every piece can come apart for deep cleaning. It didn’t come with much instruction but if you have a lick of common sense you can figure it out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I want to give a positive perspective on this product. The instructions are limited but clear. I personally love that I can add my aeration to the pump, this gives plenty of power to maintain water flow.it is very easy to clean compared to the repto filter. As you see in my pictures the air shoots all the way to the bottom of my 55 gal tank.

No, I do not recommend this product.
