Great value

I bought this to use in my ZooMed submersible filter. I was able to open the bag and use only a small portion of this charcoal at a time. Works great!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Really easy to set up! It’s a very quiet filter. The fully submersible feature is great when trying to rearrange objects in your tank. Keeps tank pretty clean.

Yes, I recommend this product.

So for a couple of weeks my water wouldn’t stop becoming super dirty. I would change the charcoal every 3 months if you have multiple turtles. Now we have clear water and three happy turtles!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

One powerful filter!

I have two Red-Eared Sliders and they can produce quite a bit of waste, but the filter is great and powerful enough for the 20 gallons they swim in. I do recommend however, some sort of air pump/bubbles to help with water circulation if your tank is large (mine is a 40 gallon tank.) The filter media though is affordable enough to simply replace it after a while instead of trying to wash it all over and over again.

Yes, I recommend this product.

i have an aquatic turtle that i inherited 4 years ago when my daughter moved out. we've tried other filters but they were inside the tank and the turtle kept knocking them off. we haven't had any problems with this system....it's what works best for me!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Does this media work for the zoo med Clean 30 canister filter / 511 zoo med filter?

    1. Yes the 501 activated carbon is the same carbon that is used in all the Zoo Med filters. You can purchase this and use it in the Turtle clean 30/511 filter.
