This has a very strange texture. The pieces of meat are so small/fine that this is almost like a pate. Different from other brands of gravy wet foot where it's like chunks of meat in an obvious gravy. That is not what you're getting here. The whole thing is just like a sludge consistent. My cat did eat it, but not very enthusiastically (left more crumbs on the plate than usual). The product by WholeHearted with "morsels" in the title is much more like a typical gravy food and appealed to my cat a lot more. I would skip this one and go for the morsels instead for cats who like gravy.

This wet food was fairly well received by both my cats, an adult and a senior. They seemed hesitant at first but also seemed to enjoy it once they had a couple bites. The "cuts" mixed with the gravy are small, making it a little closer texture to pate than a chunky wet food.

No fillers like corn or soy or artificial colors. It makes my cats coat shiny & soft. He loves the gravy & tender cuts of turkey. Easy to eat no mess & the convenience of the container is great.

We usually hesitate with grain-free "wet" food, but our cat seemed to like it; he is pretty finicky as we normally only give him grain-free dry food. We will definitely seek this out the next time we are in need of wet food for our cat.

The Wholehearted Turkey wet cat food got mixed reviews in our house. I like that the first several ingredients are poultry products and water. I found the packaging relatively mess-free. I really appreciated that it did not cause any substantial change to my cats litter box. However, my cats were less than enthusiastic about it. The one loves to eat - he ate it but with less vigor than he usually does. The other, who prefers fish flavors and cuts over pate, would eat it if he was really hungry and he couldn’t get us to give him anything else. It may be that it was turkey flavored or it may be that even though it was cuts, the food was very mushy. We may try another flavor since the food did se to agree with their stomachs.

I received this product for free from the Spotted by Petco Sampling program for my unbiased review. I have two cats that sampled the Whole Hearted "craveable cuts" turkey recipe. I feed my cats with a combination of both dry and wet food. One cat had urinary crystals and is now on a prescription diet. He does not like the wet version of the prescription diet, and is allowed to have small amounts of other wet foods, so I am always looking for small amounts of wet food that I can give him to increase his daily hydration intake. This phosphorus level is not too high, is free from artificial ingredients, has omega 3 fatty acids, and is appropriate for his diet. I appreciate the unit of use portion sized packaging. The food comes as two half cups that are attached, like a divided container. You can snap off one side at a time. With 2 cats, I can give one of the two part cup, to each, which which is a perfect amount. It was sealed well but easy to peel back. Since this was their first exposure to the food, I split one portion between the two cats. The food was not appealing at first glance. It was brownish gray. It did improve when I gave it a stir, exposing the little chunks and the gooey gravy, which my cats favor. One cat loved it and happily gobbled it up. My special diet cat did not like it and would not eat it, My dog was begging for a taste and was thrilled to lick the emptied container clean. After seeing that, the special diet cat ate his portion of food. Since I received a 12 pack of food, I have been giving the cats a portion almost daily. The acceptance rate for the cat on the special diet eats it about 50%. My other cat will consume his portion and his brother's portion if I let him. WIth this product, if you are not sure that your cat will like it, you are able to trial a small portion without wasting a whole can or pouch of cat food.

My kitties seemed to enjoy this new food for a few days. It's almost like pate but with small chunks and gravy, so it has a loose consistency. One tray isn't enough for one cat, so I feed two trays. I gave it only 4 stars because my kitties are starting to get bored with it.
