Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this small-breed dog food for its exceptional appeal to picky eaters, with most dogs eagerly finishing every bowl. The small, bite-sized kibble is consistently highlighted as ideal for tiny breeds like Chihuahuas and Pomeranians, while reviewers commend its digestibility and gentle effect on sensitive stomachs. Many appreciate the quality ingredients, with meat as the first component and whole grains, noting visible improvements in coat quality and overall wellness. Customers also value the affordable price point relative to quality. A few report their dogs preferred different flavors or experienced minor issues, but these concerns are rare and isolated.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a serious issue I encountered with your product, WholeHearted Adult Small-Breed Beef & Brown Rice Recipe with Whole Grains Dry Dog Food, which I purchased from Petco on November 20, 2024. Typically, I transfer the contents of the dog food bag into another container upon purchase. However, due to the busy Thanksgiving holiday, I did not have time to do so. Shortly after opening the bag, I noticed a very foul smell emanating from it. Regrettably, I had already fed the food to my dog before discovering the issue. In the days following consumption of the food, my dog experienced severe vomiting and constant diarrhea for three days straight. Despite my best efforts to comfort him during this distressing period, his condition caused significant emotional strain and worry for me as a pet owner. Upon further inspection, I decided to cut open the bag of food. What I found was shocking: the food inside was molded and emitted a horrible odor. This discovery left me heartbroken and livid, as I place my trust in your brand to provide safe, high-quality products for my pet.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My dog has eaten the wholehearted small breed beef and rice for a year without issue, but the last bag we bought in June made him very sick. Because we use a food dispenser and it had the old bag and new bag, we weren't sure what caused his illness. When we restarted his food, he got sick all over again. Over $400 in vet bills! I am grateful we didn't lose our little guy! Will never trust his life with this brand again!

No, I do not recommend this product.

The only reason I bought this small bag is because you sent me the wrong food on my first order. Dog threw it up. Could not feed it to her.
