Description

VETMEDIN (pimobendan) Chewable Tablets is an inodilator approved by the FDA1 that is demonstrated to delay the onset of congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs with Stage B2 preclinical myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD), and manages the signs of mild, moderate, or severe CHF in dogs due to clinical MMVD or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). 2,3 Given every 12 hours, its unique dual mode of action reduces the preload and afterload on the heart while improving contractility of the heart muscle.1 Pimobendan, the active ingredient in VETMEDIN, reduces stress on the heart and increases cardiac output without raising oxygen or energy consumption. When used as directed, VETMEDIN is demonstrated to prolong the symptom-free time in MMVD, and improve quality of life and survival time in dogs in heart failure due to MMVD. Ask your veterinarian if VETMEDIN is right for your dog.

I wrote in a prescription for vetmedin. Petco said they were waiting for the approval from the vet hospital. I called the hospital. They said that they sent it and approved it. Petco said they never got it so I called the hospital again and they sent it again. Petco said they never got it and then canceled my order. I had to drive almost an hour Back to the hospital to get the medication at almost twice the price. Thanks a lot Petco.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It's working for my dog.

I noticed that my dog was really starting to slow down on our daily walks (she would only make it half way so I'd have to carry her home) and she had a couple of fainting episodes and/or syncope episodes (this was 2 years ago) so I got her checked out and she was diagnosed with mitral valve disease. So my Veterinarian prescribed Vetmedin and she has only had one fainting episode (that I know of...) and she seems to have more energy on our walks. Well, I started having issues with the previous place that I ordered Vetmedin from so I switched to Petco this year and I have had no problems thus far. And as for the taking of the medication... My dog is a pro at detecting any kind of pill. I've tried hiding her beef flavored chewable flea medication (she is currently taking Bravecto) in pill pockets, a piece of hot dog, cheese, peanut butter, deli meat, etc., and she inevitably spits it out. The only thing that kind of works is breaking the tablet into pieces (the tablet is the size of a nickel) and hiding it in wet food. And I say, "kind of works" because she will spit out the pieces of pill that she detects. So I scoop up all the remaining pieces that she spit out and pour another container of food over the pill pieces and that usually works. Well, the Vetmedin pill is a hard tablet rather than a chewable so I was thinking, "Oh great, how am I going to get her to take this pill..." Well, the hard tablet was actually a godsend because I ordered a pill crusher and I pulverize the pill, sprinkle it on a teaspoon of wet food, mix it all together and it works like a charm.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My dog does well on this medication. He has been on it for two years. I do wish it was a little more affordable as I have to buy two bottles per month to keep my dog alive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] FRONTLINE® Shield for Dogs (XS, 5-10 lbs) was very easy to apply topically to my small dog. 3 doses come in a box (3 month supply). It works to fight/shield your dog from adult fleas & their eggs (& larvae), ticks, mosquitoes, chewing lice, & stable flies. One dose lasts one month.

FRONTLINE Shield for Dogs Does a Good Job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use FRONTLINE Shield for Dogs Does and it works great on our black lab mix. He stayed flea and tick-free all season when we used this. We have a large yard that backs up to the woods, so we were worried about fleas and ticks. But FRONTLINE Shield for Dogs did its job and kept him protected all season long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a very active pup who enjoys the outdoors and chasing chickens. We were able to use this before our vet visit with no issues. Went on well, dog didn’t seem to mind and we did not find any ticks on him.
