We rescued a cat that was a kitten herself, that someone had dumped, but had became pregnant before we could get her to trust us. She ended up having a litter of seven kittens, all survived with our help. Mom herself weighed only 6 pounds with milk, after having the kittens, and she was approximately 7 1/2-8 months old after having the kittens. Tiki cat kitten was a main go to for us for feeding mom while she was nursing. With a proper calcium supplement and great nutrition she nursed all seven kittens herself. At four when we starting weaning the kittens we started with Tiki Cat Baby 4 week+ mousse and Tiki Cat Baby Thrive. I think this was what helped all seven kittens transition and had helped in weaning so much. They are also so smart and advanced in skills. I've been caring for a young kitten for over three weeks now, and we finally reached the stage of introducing solid food. For one day, Wally ate wet food, but then suddenly stopped eating it. Over the past few days, I’ve tried all kinds of options to get him eating again, even going back to bottle feeding out of desperation. In between bottle-feedings, I offered whatever wet cat food I had on hand, and the only thing he consistently ate was a tube of one the popular liquid treats that I give my older cats. I believe he was having texture issues. Armed with that knowledge, I searched online for kitten food with a similar texture and found Tiki Cat's weaning purée. I fixed him a plate, and he ate it immediately! I love Tiki Cat products, and have used a number of them for years for my different cats of all ages. Love to see that the kitten line was expanded to include things like this product. If you have a picky kitten, definitely give it a try!
