Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this food for its high quality and natural ingredients, with most noting their cats—even notoriously picky eaters—eagerly consume it consistently. Reviewers frequently highlight the visible real meat, broth, organs, and whole ingredients like quail eggs as reasons for their trust. Many appreciate the shredded texture and moisture content, believing it supports urinary and kidney health. Some mention using it for cats with specific needs like diabetes or weight recovery. A few customers report their cats refused certain flavors or found the texture too dry, and some note the price is high, though most still consider it worthwhile.

All my cats & dogs love it lol

My cat is about 11 years old and was diagnosed with a kidney stone. It was either I came up with $2000 for surgery to find out what kind of stone it was or hope that it was a uric stone that would be able to dissolve with a higher nutritious and higher water content food I changed him off of everything that was fish and turned to this chicken and turkey tiki cat after dark, and it actually did dissolve his stone. he’s peeing a lot no blood he’s lost some healthy weight that the kibble had given him. He tears his food up and my other cats and dogs continuously tried to steal it. I do every once in a while use this to mix in with my other cats kibble I do have nine cats. This is a party meal for them, but unless your cat is used to eating minnows and different type of organ needs and various type of high protein stuff other than your basic kibbles, they probably will not be used to this and unfortunately a lot of cats do have a taste for the cheaper foods. Kind of like some kids have an appetite for McDonald’s. Luckily my cat had the kind of stone that would be able to dissolve and I’ve kept him away from fish and this has been a really good transition for him. I buy about two boxes of the 5.5 a week and even with my dog who was being picky and needed to take medication a little bit of this in his food and his whole meal was gone so unless you have a rotten situation like one of the other reviewers which I would call Petco customer service and not Cat and let them know that their food was expired. I’m pretty sure they will send you a new box Petco customer service has been amazing for replacements when items are not delivered or situations come up, but this food has definitely been a great choice for my 11-year-old and intermittently for the rest of my cats who are about 10 to 2 years old sincerely - foster fail

I bought this a week ago and my Miss Priss turns her nose up at it! 🙄 She will not eat this food! I tried all 3 varieties in the box. I finally had to mix some cheap patte with it for her to even come close to her dish! I'm so disappointed! I chose this especially because of the high water content due to her lack of water consumption. Maybe I should try the patte. I wish I could give it a better rating.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I’m so happy this food is available and affordable! My cat loves it. He’s a big Maine Coon and takes 2 cans per day on top of prescription diet for sensitive stomach. He tolerates it well!

This food looks and smells very good but my oddly picky kitty won't touch it even if left out with no other choice! She went w/o instead of even TRYING any of the different kinds i put down. Just smelled them and walked away. :(

No, I do not recommend this product.

The last 4 batches I’ve bought from multiple places have been bad, even though the exp date is 2 years away. I tried complaining to Tiki but they kept sending me to a voicemail box that was full so I couldn’t speak with anyone or leave a message, they clearly don’t care about customers. Be careful and smell your pets food before giving it to them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Has anyone with a PKD kitty tried this food? Outcomes?

  1. I would look for a holistic veterinarian. Any cat food that has colors, meat by products, grains, etc. should be avoided. This food does not of course; but it is not made specifically for cats with kidney issues.

Can i feed this wet food to my 7month and 10month old kittens? It doesn say all lifestages. Thank you

  1. Tiki Cat After Dark Variety Pack is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO cat food nutrient profiles for all life stages.

Both of my cats are 12-14 pounds - based on the feeding guide for After Dark I would need to feed them each 5- 6 cans a day which would be an entire box. Does that seem right?

  1. My cat is 15 pounds and I alternate between different types of Tiki Cat.  My vet helped me calculate the calories and based on his weight, he needs 4 cans per day.  The After Dark has more liquid than the other types and less meat so he only gets one can of that a day!  He loves Tiki.  I recently tried another brand (cat person) and he was still hungry after each meal and it's more pureed.  He's very happy to be back to Tiki.  I hope this helps.

Is this approved by AAFCO? I am looking for a complete(dinner) canned food for my cat, not a Treats ("snack") canned food. Is this a complete canned food that allows me to feed my fur friend every day/every second day? Thanks

  1. Yes, all Tiki Cat canned food meets AAFCOs nutrition guidelines & is complete and balanced. This food is a full meal and not a “treat topper”.

What is the phosphorus content of your After Dark line please?

  1. Hello and thanks for reaching out about Tiki Cat After Dark wet food! Overall, our wet cat food "After Dark" is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages. The variety pack contains multiple flavors and the amount changes based on the recipe. For the exact phosphorus content on an 'as fed' basis and on a 'dry matter' basis for each recipe/flavor, please reach out to the Tiki Pets customer support team through email or phone and they will share the exact percentage for you. Thanks again for reaching out and let us know if you have other questions about Tiki Cat wet food.

Is this mousse or pate type?

  1. This is actually shredded meat (chicken or chicken + another protein) in broth. My cats LOVE lapping up the broth and it helps with their need for hydration. If you are looking for a pate or mousse, my cats also love Tiki's Velvet variety pack which is a mousse texture and mine won't eat Pates so I think they like that it's a little more hydrating. I hope this helps :)
