Description

At Sustainably Yours, we set out to create a litter that is both high-performing and environmentally friendly. Our plant-based formula is full of benefits for both you and your cat - all while remaining sustainable. Large-grain formula for minimal tracking.

- OUTSTANDING ODOR CONTROL: Our proprietary formula instantly traps urine odor and prevents its build-up. And we never use fragrance, so there are no artificial scents that can irritate both cats and people
- EXCEPTIONAL CLUMPING: Because our litter is made exclusively from corn and cassava, it's naturally rich in starches. This results in dry, fast-forming, and firm clumps that you can trust to stay together while scooping and cleaning your litter box
- VIRTUALLY NO DUST: Our proprietary machinery removes dust at key points in the production process, resulting in a litter that protects cats from possible respiratory issues - and your home from a dusty mess
- LIGHT AND BRIGHT COLOR: Lighter in color than alternatives, making it easier to keep the litter box tidy and spot differences in your cat's urine
- LONG-LASTING PERFORMANCE: We don't just outperform other litters - we outlast them. Our litter lets you buy less and save more
- NATURAL AND SUSTAINABLE: Our litter is made exclusively from renewable crops of corn and cassava

Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this litter for exceptional clumping ability, dust-free formula, and pet-safe composition. Many report strong improvements with the large-grain version and note clumps remain intact during scooping with no residue. Reviewers with asthmatic or sensitive pets highlight the complete lack of dust as transformative. While some experience tracking and note the litter traps urine odor better than fecal odors, most consider these minor trade-offs. Overall, customers recommend it as a game-changer for households prioritizing respiratory health and sustainable alternatives.

I had bought the blue version of this litter a while back and got this one this time around because it’s advertised as having a stronger odor control and with the blue one there was no smell of anything whatsoever. With this litter it literally stinks of pure ammonia when my cat pees, i usually change my cats litter every 2-3 weeks depending on how dirty/smelly it gets and i’ve had to change it fully so many times because the ammonia stench just keeps coming back. This has never happened with any other litter (except a walnut based one i tried years ago, big mistake) and i’m so disappointed because this is a very pricey litter. I thought for the price range it would be a good fit.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Customer Care

We never want our guests to receive anything less than great quality. If you’d like to look into this further, please contact us through petco.com/contact-us.

I love this litter more than others on the market it has no dust for my asthmatic family and the cats seem to be ok with it. I don't get any urine smell because it clumps solid for urine. It does track but for me it was about dust and smell and it does great with both - got a large stainless steel scoop and have a smaller plastic one if needed. My cats don't eat this and the company says human grade and safe for pets and humans so I will continue using it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It's great to hear that Sustainably Yours Cat Litter Large-grain Formula clumps well and is safe for both pets and humans. Thank you for sharing your experience!

We have been using this cat litter in out litter robot litter box. we switch ed to this as the grains do not track as much. we have been very satisfied with its way of controlling to odor too.

This is the best litter I have found so far. It's clumps so well and consistently that you never have to scour and scrub a litter pan again. It's environmentally friendly, made from renewable resources and helps keep waste to a minimum. Is it perfect? No. If your cats like to dig to China every time they us the box, there will be tracking, but it's 10 times better as far as dust is concerned. It is fragrance free, so if your cat drops a stinky deuce, it's not perfect odor control. I throw some baking soda in there and scoop daily, so it's not a problem. It's also pricey, but worth every penny. I hope the price does not go up due to tariffs because it is sourced from Brazil. I'm not sure why there are bad reviews about tracking, but cats do enjoy flinging their litter around. Unless your going to teach them to use the toilet or use the large pellet wood litter, cats are cats.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this litter as a better alternative to clay litter, so far not impressed. Don’t mask smells well, even with frequent scooping. The real issue though is with the tracking, it sticks to kitty’s paws so it gets everywhere.

Horrible experience. I lost my $20 off coupon and they would not reissue as Inused it on a cancelled order Also, the website is super slow.

Sustainably Yours has no dust and doesn't mess up the sensors on automated cat litter boxes that use sensors. It is light weight and very absorbent. It tends not to stick to the sides of the litter box. It is more expensive than clay litters, but if you have an automated cat litter box, you should try it. I wish I knew where it is made as tariffs may apply to future purchases of this product. I.e., I thought it comes from Brazil.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very large grains compared to its smaller grains bag.

Is anyone else experiencing much more dust in the large grain? We've been using this for years, and now (the past month or so) I'm seeing a lot more dust and more tracking.

I've also been using the large grain for years and every now and then I notice a little more dust and tracking, but it's usually just for an isolated bag or two, and then everything is back to normal.

What does the large grain compare to? The photo with the large grain looks exactly the same size as the small grain size.

No the grains are larger. I use the larger with my litter robot the smaller grain would not work. This is the absolute BEST litter,no track, no sticking.

In volume how many pounds of this litter is compared to clay? I buy two 25 lb boxes of clay litter a month, so how many of these would I need?

I would say the volume is going to be roughly the same, but this definitely lasts longer and doesn't require replacing as often! Literally zero dust and I've never had mine stick to the box the way clay does.

Is this product Non-GMO and tested for cyanide & aflatoxins?

What's the best scoop for the large grain? I need one that's big and strong enough to get the large clumps, but also has the right size openings to catch the little bits that are often left over.

I use the metal large handled ones. They are available at most all pet stores.

Is the cassava processed to remove cyanide?

Only the manufacturer can say for sure, but from my research it would be dried in an oven as part of its processing which would remove most of the cyanide. I can tell you that my dog has eaten some and suffered no I’ll effects.

Cassava, yucca plant, is poisonous to ingest if not cooked. My research on the internet says that small amounts of cyanide is safe for cats, though I disagree. Is there trace amounts of cyanide in this litter?

I contacted the company with similar concerns a month ago and received a disappointing reply (below). That said, after trying 4 other litters in this timeframe, I have switched back to sustainably yours. There's nothing as good on the market. Response from company: Thank you for your interest in Sustainably Yours! We cannot disclose the exact information you are seeking since it is related to our proprietary formula; however, rest assured that we use entirely dehydrated food-grade cassava starch (tapioca), making our natural cat litter 100% safe for cats and humans. Hopefully, this helps, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
