Customers say

Customers overwhelmingly praise this recovery food as life-saving for cats recovering from illness, surgery, or severe weight loss. Most describe dramatic appetite restoration and healthy weight gain after their pets refused all other foods for weeks or months. Reviewers emphasize exceptional palatability, with even the most finicky cats eagerly consuming it, often at veterinarians' recommendation for post-operative care and syringe feeding. Many note their cats "gobble it down" or "beg for it," and some have permanently switched to this food. A few mention the high price and reduced can size as drawbacks, with one noting it may not suit renal diets. Overall, customers consider it worthwhile given the transformative results.

I credit this food with saving my cat's life.

I credit this food with saving my tripod (3 legged) cat's life on 2 separate occasions. the most recent time he hadn't eaten in 4 days, and in the past he had the worst case of pancreatitis the vet had ever seen, they claimed they couldn't promise he'd make it through the night even on IV and with 24 hour care, but I brought him home and through this food he gained his appetite back. I sincerely thank you, Me and my cat Fish. (enjoy this humorous photo of him licking his lips after munching down)

Great food for recovery

Our vet told us to feed our coco 15 yr cat this food. 1ml every hour in a syringe and also 1 or 2 times in middle of night. He didn’t stopped eating lost 7 lbs. he told us he has a mass . I’m prrpeaying he can still can live longer. He is moving around more and drinking water since he started on this food today by a syringe. He seems happier. I’m praying he puts on the weight he lost. He seems to love this food with us giving it by syringe. And he’s not throwing it up

excellent in tube or bowl

My vet prescribed this for my senior cat Lily when she stopped eating and dropped a bunch of weight. We fed her with this through a feeding tube for about a month while clearing up an infection. Unfortunately, after the infection cleared, the xrays showed the underlying issue was lung cancer. My mom's senior cat Leo jumped up to steal some of the food one time when I was mixing in some water for the tube consistency. Leo is a very picky eater who never cared for any of the wet food options he'd been given before this, but after Lily passed, he was more than happy to eat the rest of "Lily's food". Since then, it's been a chore trying to find regularly available wet food that meets his consistency and flavor preferences, because all he really wants is this Recovery food. We're going to have to talk to his vet about if she thinks it's something he can have as a daily food.

Definitely noticed appetite in one day

Just started using one day ago. Like most of the reviews, my 14 year old plus cat has been slowly losing weight and hardly eating until I bought this. He’s eaten almost a whole can in one day!

My cat stopped eating and drinking but the vet couldn't identify a cause. She had lost a lot of weight. I started giving her Recovery by syringe and noticed a quick difference in her energy. She has regained her appetite and weight and it was because of this food.

Cat with 2 cancers thriving on Recovery!!

CatLady2024

We have a cat who is battling 2 different cancers. Both are in remission, but the chemo treatments have really tanked her weight and dampened her appetite. She was still eating, but not enough. Her Vet's all say the same, feed her whatever she wants! So we have. But she still teetered on the danger zone of weight. We almost lost her 29 OCT 2024, and after major rescue doses of chemo among other meds, she is still with us and doing fantastic! However, all the chemo at once tanked her weight pretty significantly. After a desperate search to find a food that was nutrient and calorie dense, I ran across Recovery! I was able to get a script for it from her oncologist and had a case shipped from Chewy! Let me tell you, Raven ate the first can like she had never seen food before! I overfed her the first couple of days because I was just so happy to see her eat like that! She's now enjoying a can per day and putting the weight back on at a healthy speed! Pet Parents, trust your gut. Do your research. Advocate for your pets! If I wouldn't have started searching, we may have never found this food!!

We've been using this food for our cat who is about 17 years old. He was slowly losing weight until he started eating the Recovery food. He goes through about 1/2 can per day, in addition to his wet and dry prescription kidney care foods. We feed the cat both the Recovery food and his kidney care food because we need to balance between being easy on his kidneys and the need to stabilize his weight. I noticed a better appetite and more energy in the cat after starting the Recovery food. He now acts like and has been mistaken for a 5 year old cat. I'm very satisfied with everything about the Recovery food, except the price.

Easily to administer through a syringe.

We have been using this for about 6 weeks now. It's consistency is nice - mixed with about 3/4 can of water, it is easily administered through a syringe. We had been using 1 can twice daily, but with my current research it appears that we should be using 4-5 cans daily. That's what we will try to gain some weight.
