We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

What is chicken by product meal?
- Royal Canin uses by product meal which are the cleaned internal organs (heart liver lungs) with the water and fat removed. It does not contain beaks or feet.

my puppy just made 1 and I want to know should I give her the puppy or the adult food she's weighing 6-7lbs
- Aparently chihuahuas are puppies until two years. Ours doesn’t get enough fat from the regular dog food, so we give her puppy food she’s is also one year and 6-7 pounds. Because chihuahua puppies are so active some need more calories and fat to support all that playing.
