Randall's Prawn Goby (Amblyeleotris randalli), 2-3", Medium
Description
Gobies are an excellent addition to reef aquariums as they have a small adult size and are very timid and disease resistant. When planning a display with this goby, be sure to use a few inches of mixed grain sand with enough depth to burrow for a secure final structure. Before adding them into the aquarium, make sure that all rocks are securely rested on the bottom of the tank and not just on the sand, as these fish will undermine and destabilize the rockwork otherwise. The Randall's Prawn Goby scavenges through the sand for food, which helps keep your sand looking clean. However, be sure to supplement their diet with meaty frozen foods (thawed) and marine sinking pellets. Because they are generally "busy" working on the sand bed, target feeding is recommended to keep them from missing meals. This little guy has an adult size of 4.5" and are a great addition to nano aquariums. The Randall's Prawn Gobies are found in the Western Pacific in burrows on coral reefs up to 50 meters deep.
