Approximately every 2-4 weeks, disassemble fountain for cleaning. Remove the pump from fountain base. The filter is attached to the front of the pump. Be sure the pump cover is not pulled off with the filter. Snap new filter back onto front of pump and place back in fountain base. If you find that the filter doesn't snap on, it is likely the front cover was pulled off and is still attached to the old filter. Check old filter, remove the cover and place back on pump. Then attach the filter.
