I bought this two weeks ago in prep for a weeklong trip. I wanted our cat to have regular dry food in mornings and evenings in addition to wet food and play time with a visiting cat sitter. It was easy to program and set up, and there are a lot of options for the amount of food to dispense. I use small kibble and mix in some Instinct freeze dried pollock pellets and some Science Diet dental food, and it can handle this size mixed kibble. The cord is long and I plugged it in, but it's nice that battery backup is an option. I have continued to use it since the end of the trip as it feeds her at 6am so she doesn't wake me up :-) and at 6pm so she will get something even if we are out. Then we supplement with wet food once or twice a day. Given the options out there, I have found this to be reasonably priced with teh functionality I need.

Great feeder for our older cat who is overweight. It was easy to program !

This thing is terrible. A 2 should dispense 1/8 of a cup. It wasn't quite right so I set it to a higher number. It doesn't matter if it's set at 2 or 15, it doesn't even dispense 1/8 a cup. Don't waste your time.

Great value for the money. It does what I needed it to do. I just wish there was a way to know when it was empty. The instructions say the food lasts about 2 weeks and that's probably right. But I have to go off memory so if I forget I still end up with my cat in my bed at 6AM ready to slit my throat. It would be cool if there was a little light or a window or something.

I bought this 2 weeks ago. The food dispenses exactly at the times I set but the portions are way off. My Cat gets about 2/3 of a cup of food morning and evening. The setting for that amount delivered 3 times that amount of food. so I started lowering the number. Finally I am down to setting #2 which should dispense only an 1/8 of a cup but we are receiving about 2/3 of a cup. I plan to return the unit and will get another one hoping it works acurately.

I don't think so. The container is sealed fairly tight. I have the small size and use it on battery. I have 3 servings per day scheduled for feral cats so it only lasts about 4 days before needing refilled

Is this feeder good at not releasing extra food? I have a cat who tries to knock into the feeder or use his paws to get extra food.
