This is the Third fountain, I have had and it’s my favorite. It’s very easy to clean. My daughter liked it so much, she bought one for her pets.

Never buy anything from petco. Bought on petco on line. Sent me cat treats wouldn't refun money with all the paper work in hand

The fountain started working right away, however, it also quit working immediately after. The red light kept blinking, indicating a problem, but we kept doing everything it said to problem solve, and it still would not work right. After numerous attempts, we gave up on it and purchased a competitors brand that has been working splendidly with no issues whatsoever.

No, I do not recommend this product.

They do what is needed, and you don't need to take which side is which. I only wish they weren't wrapped in plastic. But I find the company very responsive.

The filters are essentially nonfunctional. The water gets just as dirty as ever while the filter remains almost entirely clean.

Does this help with the backwash and debris in the water or does it just recycle it. The one I have now is have to change filters every couple days. I have 2 small dogs and 1 cat

The fountain we have has a timer that will let you know when you need to change the filter. Each filter contains activated carbon (adsorbs organics) and an ion exchange resin (removes minerals, exchanging them for (probably) sodium ions). Solid debris (pieces of food, hair) will circulate or settle out. I’ve used this with 2 cats, a shorthair who sheds a lot and a longhair with 4” guard hairs. It’s the best fountain I’ve found, but pay close attention to the manual because of the indicator lights (red, blue, blinking or not).
