Customers say

Customers praise this waterer for maintaining consistent hydration with minimal refilling, noting its large capacity sustains multiple pets for several days. Many highlight the removable stainless steel bowl as easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, appreciating its durability over plastic. However, several report design frustrations: the reservoir cannot be filled from the top, water flow is inconsistent, and some experience vapor lock or leaks. A few mention mold buildup or a bowl too small for multiple pets. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the hydration benefits outweigh the inconveniences.

I’m giving this a one in hopes to get help. My order came and it was the water bottle only. I did not receive the bowl or the plastic part that holds the stainless steel bowl. I cannot find anywhere to call or to tell anyone that I did not receive the complete item.

No, I do not recommend this product.

What is the top lid for?

Deb2026

I purchased this a few months ago and brought this out for summer. I cannot figure out what the mechanism on the top of the water fountain is used for. There is a lock icon and I still don’t know - even after looking at the reviews. Can anyone tell me??

Yes, I recommend this product.

Thank you for sharing your experience and this question, Deb! The removable top piece on this water station only serves an aesthetic function- the lock symbol is only to show when the top piece is securely twisted into place. We do apologize for any confusion.

If you have any other questions about your water station or there is anything we can help you with, please do not hesitate to reach out to our live support team. Hi there. The locking mechanism on the lid helps keep the bottle securely in place during use and refilling. We appreciate you bringing this up and will share your feedback to help improve the product instructions. Thank you!

Stainless Steel bowl is not stainless

DawgPack

I purchased the larger fountain August 25,2025 and have been happy with it until today, when I found a rust/rainbow stain on the "stainless steel" bowl. I am afraid to allow my pups to use it now. Very disappointed it only lasted 3 months.

Love them, but they do rust eventually

We have several of these for our rescue rabbits, since they're also a favorite at the shelter where I volunteer. They're quick to clean and the large size is thankfully too heavy for the rabbits to toss, but I've noticed that all of the stainless bowls have developed rust streaks over time. Since we bought them several years ago, I'm going to get new ones and chalk it up to wear and tear, but it's a bummer that we can't buy replacement trays and have to throw away the entire product.

Water doesn’t flow properly. Sometimes waterer has to be shaken/bumped for water to flow, other times it will just randomly rush out. I went on a couple short vacations and came home to a full reservoir and no water in the bowl each time. I thought this was a defect so I purchased another but the new one is doing the same thing.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice for Outside

I use this for outside when it is hot. It gives a nice spot for my cat to be able to get something to drink when he doesn’t want to come inside. It fits nicely on my porch.

Valve failed

I've owned this station for three years. After the first year the valve that meters to flow stopped on occasion. The dispenser needed to be "shaken" in order to have water dispensed into the bowl. I've kept it because it's large and expensive. After the warranty period, don't assume water will be dispensed for your pet. You could end up with a very thirsty animal.

Ours has been with us for many years but the rubber check valve is worn out. It’s a little rubber gasket. Does anyone know where we can get a replacement little rubber gasket for this?

Questions

1 - 8 of 8 Questions

Does the reservoir snap unto or twist unto the base?

 1. Great question, Cathy! The reservoir has a slight twist to lock into the base.

Won't keep bowl full. When water is empty in bowl water will not flow unless you take the jug off and then put it back on. Fills bowl then after water is consumed have to repeat above. Why? Is it designed this way or a defect?

 1. Possibly a defect. The lid has a spring-loaded plug (looks like a plus symbol on the outside end) next to the other manual plug. When you put the jug into the dish, it should push on the spring-loaded plug and open it for water flow. We have two and never had a problem (we don’t use a filter).

Do you have to get the filter for it or can you use it without a filter?

 1. There is no filter on this, just a reservoir you fill with water and its screw on lid, and the drinking saucer and base. It's great for when we go on weekend trips, but you do want to wash the drinking saucer every few days as it gets dirty like any other drinking bowl.

How deep is the dish part on the medium and large bowls? I have a small one that I used to use for my cat and I am trying to re-purpose it for my new puppy, but the dish is too shallow - she makes a huge mess when she drinks.

 1. About 2 1/2 inches deep on the 3-gallon one.

is the opening where the water goes in large enough for a normal size hand to get in to water insides?

 1. Yes it is! The hole it pretty wide.

How much water does the LARGE hold?

 1. I was excited about the fact that you could fill it from the top instead of having to turn it upside down and get water everywhere but I am not figuring out a way to properly clean it and it’s also leaking so I would not recommend it

How much water does the small and medium size hold ?

 1. click on the size of the container and you will get your answer :)

Does the top come off for quick filling?

 1. Thank you for your question! Due to the fact that the Waterer uses gravity and the water/air pressure inside of the reservoir to regulate the amount of water it dispenses into the bowl below, it cannot be filled from the top as all the water would flow out of it and overflow the bowl. The reservoir can be filled by removing it from the bowl, unscrewing the reservoir cap from the bottom of it, and filling it up from there.
