Don’t waste your time ordering from Petco
Didn’t get the right product (got a dog house instead of a crate). Customer service still has not provided a resolution almost a week later. Don’t waste your time. Order from chewy.

Deceitful return practices!!!
I called immediately after purchase to Cancel the purchase. Spoke to CS who said purchase would be cancelled assured. I ask for conf # but CS said had to send to another dept who would follow up w email confirmation.
CS scammed me, I believe item stilled shipped. Bought a PP so they are following up.
Either send me refund or authorize return through local Petco. CS deceitful practices👎.

Crate is great- company communication not so much!
The crate is great, sturdy, easy to put together. Communication and delivery not very good. I had to contact multiple times and very poor responds.

Waste of money
Extremely disappointed - we bought this crate 5 days ago and my 6 month old puppy was able to escape. It has only been used 3 times. He chewed through the plastic around the springs for the door lock and was easily able to open his door from the inside. Total waste of money

Anxious dog chewed hole in plastic vent
Bought a large (#400) for flying between California & Hawaii for my 50 pound mixed female. I like the crate but she hates flying alone in the plane’s hold (she is clingy and anxious). During the 2nd flight (going east) she bent one wire vent VERY SLIGHTLY, noticeable only on close inspection. During the latest trip west, she made a face-sized hole by chewing and bending the rear plastic vent. Will use aids of some kind for future flights (and car sickness). Meanwhile, can I buy a replacement top instead of a whole new crate??????

Does the XL crate have a handle for easier carrying? Also, is it possible to "tack" it down in a car so it would stay in place in case of accident? NO I would NOT put the dog IN the crate while the car is moving.
- Thank you for your inquiry. The answer varies based on a few variables. Regarding the XL Petmate Ultra Vari Dog Kennel, please note that only the 21″ and 28″ sizes include a carrying handle. Larger sizes, including the XL, do not have a handle due to their size and weight. The kennel does include molded tie‑down strap holes around the perimeter. These can be used to secure the kennel (when empty) in a vehicle to help prevent shifting. The Ultra Vari Kennel is not crash‑tested as a pet restraint, and it should not be used to transport a pet in a moving vehicle. We would love to get more information for you. - It depends more on the height and length of your dog then the weight. Look at the IATA website for airline regulations. Most airlines refer you to their website.
